Task
Search the internet to find definitions or use your books to secure your knowledge of the following consumer protection legislation:
Before we finish off customer service its only fair that we look at legislation that protects consumers.  These laws have been introduced to prevent businesses from treating their customers unfairly and can be broken down into the following sections:

Labeling
  • Labeling of food regulations 1970
  • Weights and measures Act 1986
  • Unfair trading regulations 2008
Sale of products

  • Consumer credit Act 1986
  • Sale of goods Act 1979
Using Information correctly
  • Computer misuse Act 1990
  • Data Protection Act 1998
Look for any news items in the news that may be relevant to the above legislation and secure your knowledge before I get you to carry out the worksheet here

Enjoy and well done
