Animation for your crisp advert

Hi Year 8

Now that we have designed our crisp we need to make an advert for it.

To do this we will be using the flash animation software.

To find this go to start menu / all programmes / adobe creative suite 5 / Adobe Flash professional

Here is a little video to remind you how this works but you will need to think about what your animation will do and the images that you need to find and edit in Photoshop to allow you to do this .You could use the crisp images on the system but before you import them to flash you will need to cut the background out or they will look rather silly.

Extension challenge
Use the help sheet here to make a shape tween (a shape that changes shape between your eyes!)

Then see if you can make a potato morph into a tasty crisp.

Praise email for anyone that can!

Good luck and enjoy

Year 8 Website design and creation

Year 8’s are on to web design.

The first few lessons are basic HTML tags and using notebook to make a simple page.

We will then start to look at analysing websites.

Its such a short term so the sooner you get on to the creation the better.

Good luck and do well

Year 8 Computing

Lesson 2 on graphics - The difference between BITMAPS and VECTOR graphics
Todays lesson is a research and presentation
Year 8 Graphics- Our first few lessons are just really defining the differences between bitmap and vector graphics. There are worksheets but they could also do their own research on this ( the differences etc )and present to class. The homework will be related to this.

I quite like this youtube clip so we can have a look after a few minutes of research to check that were on the right track
:

Lessons 1 and 2 have  worksheets for them to do- I know it gets a bit confusing at lesson 3!
Christmas Market Signage Activity

Lesson 3 gets them to look at the concept of layering and will require a bit of photoshop ( have you used this before?) if I had them last year they will know some of it but might be worth going through the basics with them.

(there are great resources and tutorials on the KS3- y9 page) for basic photoshop skills.

Really at this stage they are still looking at composition/ layouts of graphics/ they can easily spend a lesson analysing a movie poster/ logos etc

Or…

They can have a go at using my youtube tutorial on photoshop or illustrator here:

The text effects one is quite easy to follow along with ( if they have headphones) and it gets them used to using photoshop.

Parents evening- you will be in the canteen or main hall at WL, its yet to be confirmed but names will be on tables ( Rachel will be there)

Attitudes/ effort and behaviour are the main topic of conversation I think at this stage!

Good morning Year 8 and welcome to Python Magic

Good morning Year 8

Well we have the best opportunity to learn a new language but this is not a modern foreign langauge this is the language that telss computers what to do.

Why Bovver?

Well there are not many people out in the big wild world who can do this.  Based on the supply and demand rules of economics if there are not many skilled people available the ones that are get paid an obscene amount of money.

How much money would you like to earn a day, a week a month or a year?

So lets get a start on.  The links below might help get you excited:
